Peer-reviewed publications in medieval and early modern studies, textual scholarship, and book history
Éditions Pigouchet is an academic publishing imprint based in Paris, dedicated to the advancement of research in philology, literature and poetry, manuscript studies, art history, and the culture of the book.
Founded with the aim of fostering rigorous scholarly work within the humanities, the press takes its name from the Parisian printer Philippe Pigouchet (active 1488–1518), whose activity stands at the intersection of manuscript culture and the early history of printed books.
All publications issued by Éditions Pigouchet are subject to a peer-review process, ensuring the highest academic standards and the reliability of the research disseminated.
In April 2026, Éditions Pigouchet acquired Alta Formazione Editrice and its catalogue. The publisher is currently undertaking the progressive republication of this body of works within its own editorial framework, using its typographic standards and formats, with the aim of enhancing their international visibility and long-term scholarly impact.
The press collaborates with research institutions and academic networks, including ISFiDa (Institut d’Estudis Filològics Dantescs i Digitals Avançats) and OProM (Organisation pour la Protection des Manuscrits Médiévaux), contributing to ongoing projects in the fields of manuscript studies, digital reconstruction, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Éditions Pigouchet is committed to maintaining rigorous editorial standards and to supporting innovative research across disciplines, with particular attention to the transmission of texts, the history of visual culture, and the materiality of the book.
