Paolo Spaggiari
Born in Reggio Emilia in 1988, the author is medievalist specialising in Old French literature and translation. Raised in the shadow of the castle of Canossa, in the hills of the Reggio Emilia region, he has developed a strong connection to his local cultural heritage, which he actively promotes through participation in local cultural initiatives.
He holds a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Civilisations from the University of Parma, where he completed a thesis in Romance philology, including previously unpublished translations from Old French. His work reflects a commitment to making medieval literary masterpieces accessible to a wider audience, combining scholarly rigour with a clear and engaging style.
Since 2019, he has published articles, essays, and translations aimed at fostering interest in the Middle Ages, ranging from chronicles and chansons de geste to romances and historical themes related to Christian epic, the Grail, warrior women, chivalry, and the Crusades.
In 2024, he was admitted as a member of the Institut d’Estudis Filològics Dantescs i Digitals Avançats (ISFiDa), where he continues his work in both research and public dissemination. Among his most significant contributions is La cerca del Santo Graal (2024), which stands out for its ability to combine academic rigour with accessibility, opening a window onto the richness of medieval culture for readers of diverse backgrounds.
Mirco Cittadini
A Dante scholar, he has long been engaged in public dissemination, with particular attention to the archetypal and symbolic dimensions of the Commedia. His publications include Tutto è Paradiso. Lezioncine dantesche (Aporema Edizioni) and Da Medusa a Maria. Il femminile nella Commedia (QuiEdit).
He is a member of the Institut d’Estudis Filològics Dantescs i Digitals Avançats (ISFiDa, Barcelona) and collaborates with the journal Theory and Criticism and with the Quaderni del SISD. For the Seminario Internazionale di Studi Danteschi (SISD), he co-organised the study day L’Androginia nella Commedia and co-edited its proceedings with Carla Rossi.
